I've used one for 16 1/2 years now. Great instrument! Battery life seems infinite.

Awesome! I just picked one up in mint condition with calibration certificates for $800. I am excited to get it in the field.

What are you going to do with the other $1200 ? If you would like some more survey suggestions , I would recommend a 1985 chevy suburban, complete with taken apart dash and 1/2" of dust in the floor board, if you are lucky you can find one with Dr.Pepper stains on the back seat.
