Anybody can help me on how to interpret some terms that I saw for the very time in a map?
I saw the following:
3a. 3t. 34p. (inside a parcel)
fd (somehow represents information about corner monument.)
Cal. (appears next to a distance. This term somehow represents information about boundary line.)
Thank you.
fd is usually "found"
Cal might be an abbreviation for "calculated"
I've never seen anything like 3a. 3t. 34p
What Dave said. Would give him a like or quote him. But those functions don??t work on my phone anymore.
Are you sure it's a "t" not an "r"? If it's an "r" then it matches the way area was described here in the 19th century.
3a = 3 acres
3r = 3 roods
34p = 34 square perches
(4 roods in an acre, 40 sq perches in a rood)

I think everyone is aware that there are some glitches and other demons occurring with the transitions.
James: Yeah it should be 3r. Thank you for that clarification.
I can't upload image, I can't use the reply button, etc.
maybe you could upload a picture of the map or link us the image so we could see the context of the map

Definitely. Usually put on Easement Lines where a new lot/road partially absorbs the easement. The new length of the easement is calculated, rather than measured.
As others have already said;
fd is Found
a. r. p. is the Acres.Rood.Perch area measurement.
