Any of you own this course? If so, can you elaborate on the subjects that are covered?
I own the set and found it to be very helpful when studying for my FS, PS and even state specific exam. I listened to it everyday on my way into work when I was studying. I have about a 50 minute ride into work so it gave me extra time of studying while driving.
I did not do too many of the exercises in the book that is supposed to go along with the audio.
The topics covered (individual chapters)?ÿare written title transfers, adverse possession, eminent domain, equitable estoppel, parole agreement, property line agreements, legal forms, written easements and ROWs, implied easements, common law dedications, prescriptive easements, extinguishment of easements, condominiums, monumentation requirement, recordation of documents, legal descriptions, water law issues, deed interpretation, rectangular system of lands, retracements, survey admin_The Stat Law, mechanic's lien law for surveyors, surveyors right of entry on land, limitations on surveying actions and surveyor's contracts. There is an introduction and a post script as well.
Each one of the subjects he covers for about 30 minutes. I found it to be very helpful for me and I still listen to it when driving from time to time.
John Butcher also has a couple of audio files that he sells where he quotes parts of Boundary Control and Legal Principles and also goes through a whole bunch of surveying definitions which I found extremely helpful as well. That can be found here http://www.hp33ssurveyor.com/
Any place or time one can find time to study is key, especially when you are working a full time job.?ÿ
I used it for the PS exam good information.?ÿ
I had his cassette tape set and they helped me while studying for the state exam.
Not all tapes were on subjects needed for the exam.
In time, I used 90% of the content at one point or another during my career to be able to know what to do in certain situations and to advise my clients.
They are on the way.. and few other positions..I wanted to get "Beyond the traverse point" but I think it might be too old..
I am sure you will not be disappointed with purchasing the cd's. I had a problem with one of them not working properly and Wilma, from LSS Seminars,?ÿwas quick to respond and send me a whole new set, even though I only needed the one CD.
I own "Beyond the Traverse Point", have not read it yet. It was my fathers book but I will get around to it soon. I own a few of Madsen's books, such as his "Professional Liabilities & Mechanics Liens" and the New Jersey State specific one he sells among others.
I enjoy reading surveying related books, it might take me a while to get through them but I do enjoy reading them.
Nburg, I have "Professional Liabilities & Mechanics Liens" but haven't really had time to read it. I ordered NJ state specific and Beyond the Traverse point :-). I live in Jersey City, you? We should do lunch one day.?ÿ

This is why I decided to spend?ÿ almost $400 so I can educate myself and know what to do in certain situations and to advise my clients. Selling the?ÿ invisible 🙂 --good book btw.
I live near Kingston NY, but if I am ever in?ÿyour area?ÿI will let you know.
I always enjoy talking with other surveyors.
Hey thanks for the info, Nburg! I am going to check these out!! Kingston, NY is where H5 is 😀
