Is there some sort of new proclamation I haven't heard about. Seems like the last couple of weeks have been replete with these "ring-ring" posts. Especially this week.
I was beginning to wonder if May was "pester your LS with phone calls month" or something of the sort. 🙂

Just a quarterly, and end of year thing Eric, all dealing with tax time. December was always the wildest, must have deal done for income taxes only x days left need it yesterday! They also need the bill for all services and need to cut check in December.
Property taxes are every six months in Ohio. They need to get it on/off the books in June or December. March and September are estimated income/loss months for many. Either need to sell to get money for taxes or buy to show expense.
The closer it gets to their deadline the more YOU need to deal with their emergency.
Part of my issue comes from doing a wide variety of projects. Thus a wider spectrum of weird calls can expected.
The elevation certificate people all swear they've never been in a flood zone and most definitely the property has never flooded. The little survey jobs tend to come with people who think you can be in and out in 15 minutes. The ALTA requests are more frequently coming from the guy/gal who can't spell ALTA let alone know which items on Table A are needed. The minor construction staking jobs come from people who firmly believe they can do it better themselves but SOMEONE up the ladder insists it be done by an LS. The big survey jobs are always needed last week and for less than half of the estimate. The guy who was a slow pay two years ago thinks you are going to move him to the top of your to-do list simply because he hired you once. The agent who insists the payment must come out of closing never remembers the time the deal fell through and you had to sue the property owner to get paid. Great-great granny whatsername just wants to keep you on the line as long as possible because she is terribly lonely. The head of the volunteer committee to do something important hopes you will donate your time like he's doing for his pet project. And, then, there are the people who are simply annoying because they were born to be annoying and have finally perfected that art. They rate right up there with the people who will never be satisfied with anything, ever, guaranteed, because their main enjoyment in life comes from whining about being dissatisfied about something. And, don't forget the jerk that calls four firms and tells all of them to do the job with the thought he will only pay the first one to get on-site.
Mr Cow, that has to be one of the most informed and professional sounding posts that has been here in a long while.
Maybe we can make it smaller text and fit it on the back of all our business cards....;-)
Educating clients is typically more challenging than the survey we are about to perform
Don't forget the guy who calls you 3 or 4 times a day to see if it's ready yet.
When you finally get done and call them to say so and then it sits in your office for a week or so.
