It will be a nice little job that only has one or two possible gotcha's involved.?ÿ Slice out about 11 acres in the northeast corner of the southwest quarter.?ÿ The good news is that I did a survey for the neighbor to the east about five years ago so I have the math in place to do what is typically the hard part of a job like this.?ÿ It will require a little analysis of the abandoned railroad along the north side as access must come across that strip.?ÿ Don't want to create a technically landlocked tract that already has an access driveway from the main road.
An extra benefit is that is for a friend I have known for over 50 years.?ÿ In fact I did a job for her and her late husband several years ago on a different corner of the same property.?ÿ She is a really nice woman who is now a great-grandmother.?ÿ Had a job for one of her grandsons a year or two back.?ÿ But......50 years ago she was that beautiful, blue-eyed, tall blonde with a great personality and no enemies.?ÿ Her sister was a classmate of mine. She has maintained those positive attributes through the decades and is the matriarch of a good family.
Wanna run up and help.?ÿ Located a mile and a quarter east of "The Elms".?ÿ North side of the road.
I'd love to!
I believe I've occupied a "concrete nail" in the center of Nebraska road near there when we did a survey for one of the Sager's who own land out that way. The wind was blowing 30 mph plus and the ground was frozen solid. We had to use a tow chain on the tripod legs to keep the tripod from sliding across the road. Mr Sager stopped by and made some comment about, "couldn't have picked a better day" or something like that.
