I don't remember the specific situation that drew my wrath as a newly licensed surveyor, but some part of it included an incomplete sketch. I started being hard on the crew chiefs about turning in incomplete or inadequate sketches. In response I began to notice small details emerge. Someone had been holding back their artistic abilities. Soon, there were details like very well drawn "dead cat in centerline of road" and "broken down 65 vw bug" and "old washing machine and dryer with wasp nest inside". They were really well drawn with lots of nonsense details. Some even included the title "Final Plat" with a box for seal placement and signature. BUT they had all the necessary details just as well drawn. At first I was not happy at what I took as being disrespected. Then I realized that was their way of letting me know I had their attention. And then there was the "Topo Pimp magazine" cover with a well done cartoon likeness of me that I discovered in one of the survey chariots. Brandon M. those were good times that made us laugh a lot. Jody, rip brother.
Me. "What's the difference?"
T.C. Carroll "It's the difference between right and wrong!"
