Hi guys,
long time no posting. I am working on a Leica TS15 with a CS15 controller, running SmartWorx. We do much more scanning than anything else , so total station work is mostly just control traverses. Thus everything gets surveyed with Face I and II.
The DBX file then gets handed to our control guru and he runs it through StarNet. However we have noticed that Leica seems to average or mean the face I and II observation and that is what gets fed into the network. We are based at air travel hub so 1 massive site with a few thousand control points and we just keep on extending it.
Is there a way that the face I and II observation can be split? If I open the DBX in LGO I can see that an observation might have been Face I and II but no way of retrieving the individual face observations.
Thanks
Dirk
Dirk,
I can not remember how Viva works it, but on my MS50 and Captivate if I'm simply using the 2 face shot routine, it means the shots.?ÿ I'm not sure if you can split them out since the you only get one measurement.?ÿ For control I use the 'Sets of Angles' routine which stores the face I and face II shots separately.?ÿ Well worth the extra money.?ÿ I can point to multiple targets and then have it take as many sets as I want.?ÿ All I do is sit back and watch.
If you do not use the 2 face function you can still flop face II and shout the point with the same number.?ÿ The CS15 will show a weighted mean of the shots and the DBX will have 2 discreet measurements.
John has is right.
Measure FN->2face stores an average which cant be split
Storing face1 and face 2 with the same point number creates 3 invidual points. F1 F2 and their average.
