I'm new to the forum, so hello everyone! ????
I've bought recently old, but in pretty good shape, Leica TCRA1101 with PowerSearch and Extended Range EDM. The problem is that it came without a memory card. So I've bought non-Leica (because original are very expensive to me) PCMCIA to CF card adapter and Compact Flash 32MB card. And unfortunately, it doesn't work ???
When I want to create some new job, instrument says:
"ERROR: 1100 General memory card error. If necessary reformat card."
When I try to format the card it says:
"ERROR: 1162 PC-Card error. Memory card not formatted or unknown memory card type or formatting error."
I think that on CF card should be some configuration files and now it is just empty. Am I right? If yes, is it possible that somebody could send me these files? Or maybe you have some other solution?
I will be very grateful for any response ????

It might be the card storage size, I think mine was 1 MB.

"Data storage
Memory card: PCMCIA ATA Flash (16 MB) / PCMCIA SRAM (512 KB, 2 MB)"
So maybe just the maximum card storage size?
Maybe also the problem that it is not recognized as ATA-Flash or SRAM Card?
Maybe something with your Adapter or CF Card is broken?
I do not think it is a problem with missing configuration files.
Don??t have my TCRA with me right now so i can not test with noname adapter and CF32MB Card. Maybe next week.

Looking here at second picture it is a SDP3B card with some patent numbers from Sandisk 1998.
Original Leica Pcmcia ATA 16MB
Compare patent numbers and maybe this one from china will work also SDP3B-16MB for 10-20$:
16MB-PC-Card-Industrial-Grade-PCMCIA
MemoryX-16MB-PCMCIA-ATA-Flash-Card-Sandisk
I use these cheap ones with my Leica GPS500 to upload the last Firmware. And the Firmware upgrade instruction says "Just use original LEICA PCMCIA Card",but it is also Working, at least with GPS500...

32mb should be OK, try formatting via PC with FAT format (not NTFS or FAT32)?ÿ

Tested with some PCMCIA Cards and Adapter.
CF card 32 MB and Adapter was working. Maximum Size is 32MB, 1GB CF card did not work.
The PCMCIA ATA Flash Card "Sandisk SDP3B-16-101-18" is working. And this is not original Leica.
The number from the Chinese Card above is different "SDP3B-16-201-80" but i think it will work also.
If you want to do some research within these Sandisk PCMCIA cards you can look here at "ordering Information" Page 99 and 102.

Are there some special files on this Sandisk 32MB CF card? I've checked today mine Chinese CF 32MB. It was formatted as FAT. I've tried also other formats and they doesn't work too.
I've ordered the same Sandisk CF 32MB card so I will see if it works. Is it possible that something is wrong with TCRA?
@djdan Probably too late but before create any job you need to format the card with the total station funcionality, try this:
In Leica TCRA with the PCMCIA inside, enter in menu number 5-Configuration , then 3 PC-CARD and finally 2 Format PC-Card.

Thank you!?ÿ I got the same 32MB Compact Flash and it formatted to 32MB LIMIT and worked!!?ÿ Newer faster CFs seem not to work.
