DERBY LAYOUT.

Laying out the flat track is pretty easy. I guess you had to use spirals back when they did banked tracks. 🙂

I was bothered by the 14.0 dimension, which is inconsistent with the other values if taken as 14.000, but I calculate sqrt(26.5^2-1^2)-12.5 = 13.981 so it does round to their value ok.

These tracks are laid out by the girls usually so they are not so worried about 0.04

What's the purpose of the offset outside? Is it the "in tight and out wide" that is typical of oval courses for racing?

Yes, pretty much Rob. Come in hot, hit the apex and slide a bit wider because of all the speed.
