About to finish up a mile of five lane (suicide center lane) and need to reset the quarter corner before they open the lanes (yeah, that's a shocker isn't it!). All the references per the CCR are gone for sure but when we tied it out we did an OPUS and network adjusted it with about 20 different lot corners plus the two adjoining section corners.
But when it all boils down to it, we have a coordinate on this point and that's how it's going to get reset. So today I put a mark using the RTK stakeout at the point then made a tiny dimple. Then an OPUS-RS and and OPUS-S to give me another check tomorrow morning, plus I reshot some of the adjoining lot corners that we had shot several years ago. Everything looks fine but I'll wait on the OPUS-S and see if it needs to move a scootch before I get out the hammer drill and countersink our new monument to be filed with all new references.

I dropped by some maps to our fire training center and then stopped at our airport fire station to see our new foam truck. What a beast it is and all sorts of cool stuff including FLIR to see through fog.
I love the seats that have their own independent suspension. I wish I had a seat like that in my pickup. I'll build them a map for their heads up display with the latest airport benchmarks, and all the runways so that in heavy fire or fog they can always know where they are located. Actually that was the reason for the trip to see what sort of heads up they have in the truck.

And then a session on one of our local second order vertical monuments, A 125 on 11th street. It's a nice one with a view of our municipal pool. You just never know what you might see there on a hot Oklahoma day. The reason for this was our provided changed our RTK/Network IP address and I want to make sure nothing has changed. Trust, but verify. A good motto for any surveyor.

But one thing that was all over town were pop up business's on many corners. I counted 14 and that was just on my trips to jobs and around. I'm sure there are many more. I doubt they have any city permits but that is not my job to check thankfully.
THUNDER UP!

All in all, a pretty nice even if I did miss lunch.

Looks like the pool needs cleaning. No diving in this end, I take it.
