I used to regularly use a Leica Disto - they were great. I noticed someone mentioning on here a "clone" of those for $50? Would anyone care to post a link to an example?

Also, wondering if anyone knows of a rangefinder that would have a separate EDM setting to only give a return from a prism or certain reflective tape?

I saw Leica came out with the D1 recently ( https://lasers.leica-geosystems.com/disto/d1 ), which is $100. It appears to be as accurate as the rest, but limited range (130').

Laser Technology makes some great optical devices and recently announced a hybrid device called the TruPoint 200h. This is an optical device as well as a laser distance meter combined. It doesn't appear to be shipping yet. http://www.lasertech.com/blogs/Professional-Measurement/post/2016/11/10/What-You-Missed-at-INTERGEO-2016.aspx#continue

I have two (2) different models of the Stanley FatMax lasers. They both work fine, and both were about $100. I know the one that reads decimal feet has a Leica sticker on the back. I cannot remember if the other one does. The one that uses a 9volt battery reads to decimal feet. The one that uses either AA or AAA does not. It reads in fractions of a foot. Both are very accurate.

The two units I have do not, at least to my knowledge.
