We have a deed that calls for 60 sores of land, and 1 sore of land (two parcels) for a property in Rehoboth, MA. Ever heard of a "sore" as a unit of land area?

I did a Google search, and it looks like it might be a OCR interpretation of acres?

When was the deed written? Is it some hard to read old english style cursive?

The cursive "a" was read as "s" and the cursive "c" was read as "o".

The hidden word is "acre".?ÿ

It is a recent, typed deed, but the description could very well have been copied from a handwritten deed back in the mists of time. "Acres" makes sense. We're just at the proposal stage, so not going to run the deed history back into the mists of time to confirm it at this point. Thanks for the insight.
