Don't know what you are trying to do, but to further take this apart you must remove the four machine screws from the inside ring.

Using gunsmith tools will prevent damage.  Further dis-assembly can be done by loosening the capstan screws and then removing the remaining machine screws. Probably not advised. Good Luck

Thanks for the reply. My issue was that it would not separate like you show in your photos and, at the time I was doing this, I had no idea how it came apart.  I tried everything but the parts would go no further. After reading this:

and looking at this:

I guessed that this should just slip apart, like in your photos, so I took a torch to the brass shaft. After a little twisting, the two pieces finally slid apart.

The problem is; it looks like someone threw this off the back of a truck. So after hours of frustration, it is in somewhat presentable condition

I need some 4-48 screws (ordered yesterday) and some white plastic for the covers and this project will be over. I've got to stop dragging home these basket cases and trying to put them right. However, in my defense, the optics on this are fantastic and although it grinds when rotated, it does rotate now.

Brian

Anyone have a spare adjuster?

Mine seems to have been removed at some point in time.

Thanks,

Brian

I happen to have one of those. If you will send me an address, I will get it to you. I will also include the screws.
