that was about the time he became aware the boat was on fire... they cast it adrift so it would be away from the work bridge just before the gas tank exploded and burned the up everything in the boat.... amazingly it didn't burn thru and sink and they went out later and fetched it with a row boat. It's up by their field office trailer now.
