Well, had to upgrade my computer, with I just got with Win7 on it. I was going to swap my PCI printer card over to the new computer, but when I opened it up, apparently the PCI cards are no more, I didn't realize that.
I was successfully using a USB to 9 pin connector for my GPS hookup (hope that works under Win 7) I was wondering if something similar will work with the HP 450c plotter too.
Anyone using something like this: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=usb+to+printer+adapter&cid=3147001133998404647&ei=i3xMTZKdEaSoM5_P-P0D&sa=title&ved=0CBEQ8wI#
thanks.
I have a cable looks similar and came with an Epson 1520.
I recently upgraded and couldn't install a PCI card either. But I did have a PCIe slot available (smaller). I bought a SIIG card from Newegg.com that has a serial and a parallel port. It installed without any problems, Windows 7 had to search for an updated driver. Runs the data collector and plotter without a hitch.

I have pretty much the same setup, though I my SIIG card is parallel only and is PCI. In any case, the only driver I could find was for a 430, which is B&W only. I'm currently unable to plot in color, which is a major drawback.
