Also, shouldn't your fee reflect your liability?

Pawned?

Saw him on TV last night. He bought a Gibson mandolin knockoff for 1500 dollars. Worth about 100 dollars. Hmmm.:-D

Professional Service vs. Commodity

I don't see how the report of a professional service can be compared to a commodity. Most of the analogies I read above are badly flawed. Methinks some people need to mull this over before answering.

Pawned?

What you charge for your surveying services is between you and your client. Surveyors over the past few years have had others to dictate what they should charge. A few years ago there was an add in the ACSM publication that set a fee for a lot survey at $150.00 I sent an email that stated that I would not go down the street and gas up for $150.00.
I would also like to add that discussing FEES could bring on a lawsuit some of you younger surveyors may not have heard of what happened to the Arkansas Association a few years ago when the Feds fined them for Price Fixing for talking about Fees at a meeting.I do not want to see history repeat itself!

Discussing fees is not illegal, unethical or even frowned upon. Fixing fees is what those boys got in trouble for.
