I am not familiar with this and what it can do?

and from the same fella.

Here is this one again.

Is the Ashtech a data collector of some sort and if it is can it run the Trimble.

I would doubt Trimble and Ashtech would communicate with each other.

I have recreational GPS units that will not download any actual data that is easily useable with my survey programs.

They will show locations on their own software and maybe Google Earth or some other map software.

They simply will not download a list of points and their locations past a tenth or hundredth of a second for survey grade use.

When I want that I use my Promark3 units.

Let's hope that L1 will always be around or at least that is what I am wanting to happen.

The system referred to here?ÿ?ÿis a Pro XH series.?ÿ We have several but this is a category of mapping grade receivers, with alot more overhead than simple navigation.?ÿ I wouldn't suggest the ProXH for simple point navigation.?ÿ This system does not have a datalogger and you would have to use Terrasync (the mobile software) running on deprecated windows mobile software with Pathfinder Office (office software) to reap the benefits.?ÿ Like the Juno, built by Trimble, these are designed to create SSF file formats, then passed into and from Pathfinder Office.?ÿ The software suite alone at version 5.86 / 5.9 will set you back a couple thousand new.?ÿ You will have the capacity to "store and display" SPC, but this is not a handheld GPS and for navigation, a very poor substitute for a Garmin IMHO.

I would think from the post your leaning on a recreational grade (consumer grade) Garmin or a phone app.?ÿ Both of these options can live in Lat/Long and UTM.?ÿ Sadly, the State Plane Coordinate system is not so germane in these recreational systems.

So, does anybody know of an Android app that can spit out real time position info in a user defined coordinate system (like what some of the Garmin handhelds can do, and what any survey grade DC software can do)? There are a few Apps around that have pre-defined systems, but none that allow user defined.

Check our "onXHunt"

I checked it out, but could not see anything for putting in user (custom) grid. This is what the user grid looks like on the Garmin units. It's a beaut, and surely there must be an App with the same functionality?
