Sorry about that - yes, you do have to "sign up" to see the "flash deals". I like these folks and occasionally get a good deal from them. Never had a problem so I think you'll be safe to sign up - even if you don't use them now or in the future. I do understand your reluctance - I frequently feel the same about other sites.
That is why you have a random yahoo e-mail address, so you can sign up for things like that.
I'm the one that was asking about the scanners. I ended up doing what was suggested, and burning 1/2 a day researching, the VuPoint ones seem to be highly regarded. They have a nice comparison on their website. I had pretty much decided on the ST441, its B/W & color, and does JPEG & PDF. Most of the other option wer the same or better as teh others.
I was going to ebay one for around $60, I just got teh one that you posted up for the $35. It is factory refurbished like most things on that site, but for teh amount I am going to use it, should be fine.
