I recently acquired a Gurley Solar Transit, I am familiar on how it operates. I am looking for easy way to change 0hrs GHA to Greenwich noon like the BLM ephemis did it.
Also the correction of the sun's declination.

Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Doug

I have a documentation that I made up in 1988 when the BLM quit publishing their Ephemeris so I could do the necessary changes to make up my dec. sheet for my Gurley Solar Transit that I could send you so I could do the conversion of the old Sokkia Ephemeris at that time. Jerry Wahl's Ephemeris is in the same format as the old Sokkia and the conversion also works with this. Send me an E-Mail to [email protected] letting me know if you would like a copy.

Jeepers, that has been many moons ago, in the last of the 1970.s or maybe real early 1980's. I think the last time I saw Vern was maybe 1981 or 82. Since leaving Wyoming 30 years ago, I lost track of all the BLM people I used to have contact with in Cheyenne, Dennis Bland, Jerry Messick. Did have some contact with Dale Wilson in Phoenix before he retired in 2005 I think.

I am curious what a Gurley Solar Transit is worth. I am going to make a bid on one and I wonder what is a good price. The one I am looking at is a newer version built in the 1950's. Any idea?

It was in 1981, just before I received my WY PLS license. I think Dennis passed away and Jerry retired around 2008?

Sounds like a question from my PLS test.
