I had a glitch last Wednesday.
I was staking boundary line and my TDC600 went into a mode I couldn't get it out of.
I basically had to think that the DC does two distinct things and I may have figured it out the fix myself.?ÿ
But my mind was stuck in the unit as a DC, instead of it also being a phone.?ÿ
Anyway, putting it in my pocket turned on an app (TALK BACK) and it will not function as a DC if it's on, at least I couldn't get it to work.?ÿ
I tried everything I could think of and even took the batteries out over the weekend and did a reset but still it won't allow me to work with it.?ÿ
So, after consulting with the good tech's at Frontier Precision the fix was simple. When I put it into my pocket it somehow pressed the up and down keys for volume at the same time activating the Talk Back function. To get out of that hold both keys down together.?ÿ
Apparently the TalkBack app allows the android phone to be operated vocally. If you're vision impaired you can still use the phone. Immediately I wanted to use it to run the DC, but alas it's only for the phone half of the unit.?ÿ
Soooooo, if your TDC600 goes into TalkBack mode it's easy to get out of it and continue working by holding down both volume buttons.?ÿ
Maybe everyone knows this already and I'm simply catching up.?ÿ
