I picked this up at the local Home Depot, but their website does not have it listed. I paid about $14.50 (I think) and has a good weight and balance to it. It is a little heavier than my favorite Martindale (RIP at the bottom of the Little River). But it is waaaaaaay better than those crapppy Collins that everybody sells for $6 (and not worth that). It sharpens way easier than the Collins too.

I had bought a Smith & Wesson (not kidding) from knifedepot.com with one of those saw backs on the spine (like the Gerber black blades with the long rubber handle)... but those things are downright nasty dangerous.

Anyway, if you like a decent machete, this may be for you.
22" Machete And YES, it is a Fiskars... the scissor people.

Frankly i don't think I have the guts to swing a machete into my self.

I have. It was great while the "U" holder held the blade, but after 1 season, mine got loose and I had that lil' blade pop out at my head more than a few times. I hear you about the machete, but now that I'm solo, I need something I can put into my sheath on my belt in a second.

I recently bought an 'Ontario Knife' which is actually an 18" Machete. I sent for it because it was highly recommended. I like the feel and the heft and it is made in USA. Yet, it was tempered too much (at the factory) and I can't get a good bite out of it with my brand new 'Nicholson 12" bastard file. Rather disappointing.

I've used the Ontario 18" knife since the early 70's and it is actually easy to sharpen. Their 22" knife is even more lethal.

I admit it does take more effort to sharpen than a lesser quality machete.

Once sharpened, I finish off with a diamond stone to a mirror finish, it will hold an edge much longer than most.

I like the look of the handle on the Fiskar.
