Greetings:?ÿ
Does anyone believe that Glonass satellites may be affected by the status of trade issues between the US and other countries ??ÿ
Just curious.?ÿ ?ÿIt seems a bit of a stretch that Glonass would go off line when so many countries use them.?ÿ?ÿ
No.
It's possible I do seem to recall Glonass going offline a few times due to Politics, however I doubt Russia is bother by us having a trade war, it opens the door for them to export more good.?ÿ
I don't.
No. There have been instances of ephemeris fubars, and while they could very easily disrupt their own system in a hissy fit, it would wound their own businesses and end users more than anyone else. There is a big push with developers and equipment manufacturers there to grab a strong hold on the booming markets for consumer, embed, autonomous, and other integrated GNSS systems... and to do it quick before folks realize that Galileo+GPS is going to supplant GPS+GLN as the prime solution.?ÿ One challenge for deep integration of GLN is that there are limited sources for advanced GLN clock and orbit products, code bias data etc.?ÿMany commercial PPP systems do their own tracking proprietary networks, but there are few open resources. Galileo resources will be all over the place. So to make a short story long.... they'd only hurt themselves if they deliberately messed up their own services.
Yep - we are little fish in the pond, but even so, their military and civilian uses have to function. And they can't turn off other's use of it, any more than the US government can do the same.
The cat is out of the bag.
