We have a little project almost exactly 20 miles SSW from the office.
Setting up a projection that will get us to surface and deciding on the Geoid model I notice that the Geoid Height is 28' on site, at the office it's 47', in only 20 miles it changes 19' which is why GPS doesn't work for elevations.B-)

It works fine if the model is good enough.

Exactly, but the model isn't GPS, the model is based on old levels, the model gets the crude GPS height to the sophisticated measurement.
Of course we are soon going to get models based on gravity measurements so my argument will be moot :-O
Mighty Moe,
Which state are you in?

Windows10, R10 with tilt and GravD- ya'all be in the catbird seat.....meanwhile we'll still be tying to our harn and working with legacy control from 1993 of which there are only 2fricken% still in existence and undisturbed..... but we'll have TBC...... maybe I'll go commit harikari with my nail clippers.....

lol, yeah, it could get interesting, the sudden 2' drop and all the guys with black boxes completely unaware.
