I recently had my Geodimeter battery re-celled. (the bigger "cowbell" type) Used the same company that did the smaller ones and the powered rod for the prism.
Always had good service. Until now.
Cowbell battery will not be recognized by my charger for some reason. The lights click back and forth from red to green... fuse is good. It charged exactly one time since I got it back, now it wont do anything.
tried the 'deep charge' setting.. nothing.
All my other batteries charge fine, so I know the charger is working.
I've called at least three times and left messages asking for help. NO RESPONSE! I've been using a backup motorcycle batt and my mini jumper wires but that is annoying, especially since I paid about $200 for this recell, (and around $600 in the past year for all the batteries)
Could this new battery need a new charger? Hell, I'd just order that too if the guy would simply call me back.
Any advice?
Andy

sounds like a bad cable, change cables and see if it works
WQhen they recelled you battery, did they convert it from NiCar to Sealed Lead Acid (SLA)? Aomwe of the SPA batterys require higher voltqage than NiCad to recharg. I would look into a GPAC battery http://www.gpac.biz/ to power a Geodimeter.
My Geodimeter does not need batterys to do it;'s job though. We just tie a roap to the handle and use it for a boat anchor. The older ones that I used were real work horses, but the 620 was not reliable. End of rant about Geodimeters.

good idea if I had another one with that connector. 🙁
