Previously, one had to bring a complaint to the Land Court in order to make a simple correction to the registered land records. Now it can be handled administratively. Some years ago I told the speaker at a MALSCE seminar, one of the judges in the Land Court, that we had no easy way to make corrections to the Memoranda of Encumbrances for a Title Certificate. The example I gave was of a road widening done around 1960 not listed on the MoE. I only found it because the abutting property's MoE listed it. I wonder if the judge took my gripe seriously and moved this issue out to the legislature, or if there were other parties that proposed this change?
