I have a job file from a Trimble TSCe that I need converted to a text file. I just need the points in either a txt or csv file for insertion into Carlson. My TGO software is on the fritz and all I have is the job file. I don't have the data collector either. Long story. Apparently ForesightDXM doesn't recognize a Trimble job file and it won't convert the dc file either. I am starting to think I may have a corrupt file. Anyone willing to take a shot at it?

Terramodel can import the raw .dc file and then export a .asc file which can be opened with a text editor such as notepad. If you need someone to convert it send it to me: [email protected]

False alarm. TGO still not working on current computer, but managed to find an older version on another computer. Thanks to those who thought about it though.

I coughed up the cash for the Foresight software which I just use for conversions. It would be great to be able to plug the downloaded file directly into Carlson.

Brent, it's in Carlson already

Check this out dude. In Carlson, Survey>Edit Process Raw Data>File>Import>From Trimble and then you have your very own raw data file with which you can edit, and reduce.

I didn't have the dc file until just a few minutes ago. The data collector is in the shop with the robot. I had the technicians email me the job file because they apparently don't know how to export a points file.

Thanks for the info though. I hadn't ever done it that way. Learn something new everyday. One question though, how do you get the sideshot records to be recognized as points?

I just did what Kris said and it worked pretty seemlessly. Only problem I had though was that when I tried to save the coordinate file it didn't recognize the sideshots. Sure it's just a step I'm missing since I don't normally insert my points this way.

You may have to fix the records from DS to SS and then they will reduce. I had that problem with traversing with the robot.

It's pretty handy, no?

Nevermind Kris. I played around with it a bit and figured it out. This may be the new way I get points into a drawing. Very cool.

Do you have Windows7? TGO no longer works on Windows7, it has been replaced by Trimble Business Center (TBC). You can download a 30-day full-licensed trial on http://www.trimble.com/TBC_DemoDVD.html . After 30 days you can still use the software without a license, and use it to import/export your data to your device. The 'custom export' tool is what you will need.
