I have just written a proposal for an elevation certificate for a single story, slab on grade residence. The only thing different with this particular house is that on the rear of the house, there is an open air carport, with an enclosed utility room at the far side of the carport, opposite of the house.
How would you classify that? I have never done one like this before. I am not sure if they will accept my proposal yet, but hopefully they will.
Thanks in advance,
Jimmy
If it shares the same roof, as the main building, I would still call it a 1A, and describe it in the comment section on the back of the certificate.
Daniel,
Thanks for the quick reply. It does indeed share the same roof. I will, of course, have pictures if I am awarded the job.
I will post them if and when I get them to get a consensus.
Jimmy
It is hard to say without a picture but I think the which ever is lowest between the utility room and house would be the lowest floor and the other would be the next highest floor.
Sounds right to me, Dan.
Yup. Be sure to include that area in total enclosed area.
