The touchscreen on my FC5000 is intermittently unresponsive and becoming worse.
The recommended fix is to do a hard reset and the touchscreen will likely resume functionality for days, hours, or minutes.
I have used a mouse to try to change/trigger the touchscreen profiles through the icon on the screen when unresponsive but an error message displays saying the touchscreen profile is inaccessible.
An internet search indicates this is a common problem with Windows 10 and touchscreen devices.
The Device Manager shows a code 10 error -the device cannot start ?ÿ for 12cHID?ÿ?ÿ (Human Interface Device)
The solution is supposedly to reinstall the HID drivers or to reinstall Windows 10.
I decided to return the DC to the dealer who confirmed a reinstall for Windows 10 was the way to go but upon enquiring about progress was told a quotation for repairs is being prepared. I am thinking they may want to replace the screen which I don't believe is required. (18 months old, limited use and well looked after)
I did a search and found a member here had a similar problem a few months back and was looking for advice but there was no mention of a remedy .
We encountered this in our first batch of 3 FC-5000's purchased December 2017/January 2018. They were all purchased around the same time period and the unit creation dates were around the same time also. We tried reinstalling the touchscreen drivers and on one unit did a complete system install (This takes a while and a tech talked me through it). In the end, the unit I did the complete reinstall and update worked, but has issues to this day. The other 2 went to the dealer, went to Juniper systems, and then had new motherboards installed (units were under warranty). My gut says they had a bad bunch of motherboards that made it out the door.

We have purchased 3 more units since then and did not have this issue.
I used a brand new one of these for a couple years (17-19) and had mostly no problems.?ÿ I did discover the thing would guaranteed blue screen crash on me sometime the next day if I left it on while charging overnight.?ÿ Anyway, first I've heard of the touch screen bug.?ÿ Sounds like a hardware malfunction to me since it's intermittent but if they think it's a windows deal then I guess trust what the repair guy says.
I rang the Dealer yesterday to get an update. They have installed a new motherboard and indicated the repairs will be under warranty (purchased June 2017) so it may be that there are a batch of bad motherboards about.
