Well I just ripped another accordion rubber boot on my FC 2500 antenna. These repairs cost over $300, because you have to buy a new antenna. What a very poor design for field equipement.

I may just put neoprene tape over it so that it is still flexable. With out a good seal water may get in...:-@

Anyone have a good fix for these?

thanks

I may have misunderstood, but I believe my dealer told me the reason for the high cost was that the whole radio module had to be replaced instead of just the antenna. I decided to take my chances with the torn boot and after a year and a half it's still running fine. Your mileage may vary depending on your environment and work habits.

We have a problem with the screens goin out on them, I have replaced 3 of them in the last 6 months and have one in the shop now that was replaced 3 months ago. $1200.00 each time. They are covering the cost of this time. Thank God

I sealed mine with a flexible silicone sealer (e6000). I left the antenna in the up position. It's worked fine for 2+ years.
