Paid 35K for mine!
WTF!!

I don't think that GPS systems should ever be retired and replaced as fast as cell phones.
Pure PROPAGANDA, they are just spouting wishful words to the masses that don't rely upon survey grade GPS.
> I don't think that GPS systems should ever be retired and replaced as fast as cell phones.
Don't you mean "...will ever be replaced..."
Will, Remember the Force!
So let's just say we have that faulty $20K Bernie Madoff receiver sitting around collecting dust, and we also have our $200 gizmoed out cell phone we can't live without. All they want is for it to be "close enough". I think they already have an app for that. hmmmmmm, kinda makes ya wonder, eh...:-P
Also from the article:
"Manufacturers of high-precision receivers are concerned that fixing their poorly-designed devices will be expensive."
Ya, sure. YOU go tell all the big boys that they have poorly designed devices. I bet you will not find ONE high precision GPS manufacturer that will say "Geez, we're concerned that fixing our poorly designed receiver will be expensive." Nope, I don't think you will find any of them that will say that. These jokers in favor of LightSquared will say amazing things.... mostly BS!
> Did you pay $20k for a faulty device?
I left a nice appreciative email in their "Contact Us" mail box. If taken in the proper context it should give a few of them nightmares for a while. We can only Hope!!:good:
LSQ is doing a full-court press in its attempt to ram this through. PR materials spinning the story in their favor are part of the effort to salvage their investment without regard to the impacts on others. I hope their $20B comes to naught, but that kind of money buys a whole bunch of regulator and legislative pressure. I'm not very optimistic at this point.
