The name of the TV show is "Who Do You Think You Are?"
Tim McGraw was the celebrity tracking his family history in this episode.
In a nutshell, surveying came into play while exploring his ancestors who had settled in far southwestern Virginia earlier than such settlement was allowed. Then, they went back a couple generations and discovered another surveying connection. His great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather Johann Jost Hite (originally Hayd) owned large parcels in the Shenadoah Valley that were surveyed in 1748. A 16-year old boy who was part of the survey crew kept a journal of his experiences. The young lad was George Washington.
Later in the shoe, he learned that the Hite's (Hayd's) come from Palantine (Germany) on the same boat as ancestors of Elvis Presley. He had to wonder if the ancestors were 'jammin' on the ocean voyage.
Kewl, but in the shoe? 😉

Haha I was wondering the same thing. 😉
I like Tim McGraw!! *whistles* :-$
Interesting to know his background. He's doubly blessed with music and baseball in his blood.
I watched that last night and really enjoyed it. I think I will skip the episode coming up with Rosie O'Donnell though.
James
I guess I was attempting to impersonate Ed Sullivan's famous line asserting it was going to be a really big "shoe".
Sorry. Glad to see other members of the spelling police are paying attention.

I like shoe better, myself. 😉
My comment was in jest, though! All is kewl! Don't throw a show, er... I mean shoe at me!

Haha...when I saw "shoe" I immediately looked at my keyboard, and confirmed that the "e" was right next to the "w" and surmised that it was a simple typo and not a lack of being able to spell.
