Yes, it is common practice everywhere to have one original of a subdivision plat that has been notarized before recording.
Imagine that you have made a survey for 7 clients or family members on 7 parcels of a division or partition of land that produces 5 copies each of the 7 different tracts that are attached to 5 copies each of the drawing for those 7 clients and every single page of the 70 pages must contain an original notarized stamp to accompany your signature and seal.
None of this would be recorded.
That is what was required or the survey was rejected.
