I've read that Oregon is dispensing with the Bar exam for law school graduates who would rather work the equivalence of a 5-year apprenticeship. I haven't researched the details, so correct me where I'm wrong.
That raises the question of requiring surveying exams for licensure. Is Oregon open to apprenticeships for surveyors in lieu of an exam?
Isn't this a return to the old days for lawyers and wouldn't it be the same for surveyors?
Entirely different governing bodies, and I know nothing about the bar exam .. Oregon has a Independent board for surveying and engineering. They won't be dropping the exam requirements anytime soon, but they did just review and modify their requirements/qualifications to sit for the exams. And Oregon still allows for experience only tract to qualify for the exams.
