We are in the process of purchasing a scanner and would like to use an elevator tripod to raise it up so we can tie in sections further along the road. It looks like most of the elevator tripods have some pretty low weight limits. Our scanner is spec'd to wiegh 27lbs. We would like to be able to get it about 10' off of the ground.
Any suggestions/experience?

I have seen them at InterGEO last and this year. They even have a remote leveling deck which is amazing. Even the REALLY big tripods are AMAZING steady. When I saw them, I wanted one so badly. If you happen to purchase, I would like to stop over and play with it. Prices totally reasonable, I think the Kangur-Lift was 3,200 Euros.

i've bought the leveling deck (at scan-go) and a mast (at fireco) that can be hooked on the rear of a car or a walking trolley.
The mast has te be delivered at the end of january. I'll post some pictures of this setup soon
