Does anyone know what an Elevation Certificate number is? I have done many ECs and have never been asked for an EC number.

The question was posed to my client by the Insurance Company. The client just called me and asked what it was. Any feedback is appreciated.

Maybe they are referring to the form # at the top right.

Robert: That reference was given to them either in person or by telephone by the client and apparently that is not it? This EC was an eye opener. The Insurance company is going to charge him 100 dollars per year even though his house and lot are 4 feet above the new BFE.

The insurance company just called the client and said they could process the EC without the EC number which leads me to believe that the processor really didn't know what he was asking for in the first place..

About a decade or so ago, you could get a 3 year policy here.

I was paying about $325 /year on a policy that the FF was about 3 feet above the BFE.
I took the 3 year policy and the cost was about $350 for the three years.
They explained to me that the administrative and 'paper work' cost was a large percentage of the premium.
They shortly did away with the 3 year policies.
Insurance companies have everyone under their control.
So for your $100 premium, I would guess that the paper work is about 60-70% of the cost
