A boy can dream can't he?
> There is always someone in the bunch that will go "kaduh seems reasonable to me ka yuk yuk"... The list is about as reasonable as abolishing the minimum wage. This sounds like a good job for someone who wants to go to work for an accounting firm. Maybe a youngster just out of college and newly licensed with time climbing the latter in a large firm and looking to make the leap to a bigger office.... But for the life of me I have a hard time thinking that anyone smart enough and good enough to have a proven track record in marketing and business planning and developing business would want to give all the profit to someone else....As others have stated, someone who could meet that criteria is in business for themselves.....
Sorry but this response is one of many reasons why many don't treat us as professionals. I have met numerous surveyors that have much more knowledge than me and I consider my peers. However, most of them can't manage an office, let alone multiple offices, let alone market, speak in public..etc. I have much respect for them and there is a position in surveying for them but it isn't management of people.
How would you propose a firm looking for someone with these qualifications advertise for the position. Wanted - Good Surveyor? That would be a recipe for failure.
Surveying is a business that requires business minded people and not just a good surveyor. The quicker we realize this the better the profession will be.

Excuse me, your response did not merit a reply in the first instance, my bad.
I hope this will work. I had to login to my state society site to view it....
