if a home on pilings is fully enclosed and the bottom is used for living area is it diagram 1 or 6? thanks for your input.

I would say 6 if you can visual determine that the upper floor is raised and not a pole building type construction. But it really makes no difference, The "Top of bottom floor" is going to be the same spot.

oops,,, went to edit my post and hit delete..

I would say if the upper story is supported by the pilings you mentioned, it is for sure a type 6.

If there is a bearing wall on the concrete slab that supports the upper structure, it would probably be a 1A or 1B, depending on how the slab is constructed.

after calling the flood plain manager i dont feel so stupid. she is pretty sharp when it comes to the elevation cert and she said it was a good question. she pretty much said the same thing as andy j. the county has the structure on record as slab on grade so i went with 1A. i really appreciate everyones input. thank you!
