Today, for what I am certain was the first time in my career, I walked up to the concrete headwall of an RCB in search of the "X" specifically mentioned in the list of corner references for the quarter corner and said, "Damn, no 'X', but here's a '+'.?ÿ Let's see if he meant to put down '+' in his notes."?ÿ Turned out it was a typo all along, because the distance from the "+" we found was precisely the correct distance to the half-inch bar in pavement we found.
