Got to test drive one the other day, looks pretty good. I'm not thrilled with the lack of a USB plug on the one I had, but it also had two blank slots, guess you can get it configured how you want. For some bizarre reason this one had two serial ports, can't imagine why anyone would want two obsolete 9 pin slots when USB is 15 year old technology. It also had a CAT 5 plug, so worked fine with the server as far as downloading and uploading.

I still have yet to use any data controller that compares for weight and size to the Leica RCS 1100. Why nobody else has opted for a slave/master design is beyond me, leave all the weight and bulk at the base station or robot.

It was OK, nice to have a Windows environment on new equipment. With the Carlson RTK and VPN link, it was about what any GPS with Glonass would do, nothing special. I was reconning existing monuments in a heavily wooded area, so it stayed in autonomous mode 95 per cent of the time.
