I've got a friend that designs steel structural stuff for commercial construction. He has some surveying background and he usually does his own measuring on-site using various methods like a small handheld distance measurer and a right angled laser thing he has. He designs in AutoCAD. He asked me how he could do things more efficiently. I thought of Carlson robots and SurvCE because it uses a DWG file. Am I right about that? Any Carlson robot users have any suggestions or comments? Thanks -
I'd have him look at something geared more towards what he does, maybe Leica ICON or Trimble LM80 or S/P Layout Pro.
He wants to draw in a DWG file while he is on the site. That is why I thought of Carlson. Do those you mentioned do that?
The Carlson Field module can run the robot and do data collection straight from the CAD drawing.
