I used to buy a pack of 20 or so bungies every year. I loose them, or break them. Anytime you start using an atv for surveying, bungies, are a part of the game.
The last several packs I have bought, have broken, been un reliable, and rotted in the sun.

Any recommendations for me? It's like the quality has fallen in a hole.

Thanks.

http://www.amazon.com/Original-Quick-Fist%C2%AE-mounting-equipment/dp/B000CQPANY

I use the quick fist clamps with fantastic results. They work great for quick and easy access to shovels, 2 meter collapsible rods, etc.

For strapping tripods and GPS/instrument cases to the ATV, you can't beat the heavy rubber bungee straps sold at truck stops. Just don't leave them in the sun for months on end and you should get a couple of years of use out of them.

I found very good bungees at Pro Bass Shop on the East side of Dallas. The store NW of the Airport did not have them.
They are in the boating goods and are polyurethane and guaranteed for life.....I got the yellow ones, still going strong a year and counting.
Google yellow polyurethane bungee cord and/or The Perfect bungee and you will get a page of sources.

I like the car binder straps that has the fold back lock. They will hold a bundle of tpost or several tripods in place on the ATV

Rope winch works well for all things from holding the ATV on the trailer to holding boxes on the ATV racks and will double to pull the ATV out when stuck. They come in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2in rope. I keep an extra 100ft of 3/8in poly rope on the ATV for those days.

Probably made by the low bidder in Asia someplace. I have noticed Asian plastics and rubber products are not long lived in UV light.

Take a look at older Asian cars and look at the upholstery and dashes, very few if any hold up, I don't think it necessarily important to them because cars are junked early on in their life in Japan, here is an article that speaks to that. I know a local guy that made quite a business buying imported used Japanese engines from junked relatively new cars in Japan and transplanting them into high mileage cars here in the USA, still lots of life left in the engine.

There are a ton of places on the web to buy Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) engines and transmissions. Actually getting one with the promised low miles is a different story...
