Here is a nice one:
Carlson also sells big ones. Up to 12 lbs. And wire to hang them.
Apparently, they are used for elevator shafts, mining, and the like.
I'm just guessing here, but, have any of you seen, or used one of these big bobs?
I got a big one, maybe 3 lbs, that has mercury inside it. It's got a mercury stain on its side. Stuff is toxic, so I keep it put away.
It'd be fun to get or make a nice 50 lb one. It'd be a great conversation piece. Shaped like our traditional 16 oz ones.
Thanks,
Nate
I remember a post from the not-so-distant past that had a link to the largest collection of plumb bobs. I'm sure he had some large ones [create your own punch line] in his collection...
