I wonder what Leica manual total station is the best in terms of durability. My opinion goes to the TPS800 series. 🙂

I think that you can easily make a case for that.
I remember using one fifteen or so years ago. First rate optics, first rate EDM. Excellent angle accuracy. I don't know who could beat that back then. Or maybe even today.
Very limited on-board data collection ability but since it worked with everybody's data collector, no problem.
I think I remember Leica running an ad with a couple of surveyors, looking like father and son and the caption was something like "We built our business on the Wild T-2. This TC-800 is our total station." Or something very close to that.
I wish I still had one.
