It would be nice if the indicator lights were standardized.

I have Leica chargers, Topcon chargers, various DCs, 18v drill, 18v trimmer, etc etc etc.

Some blink when done, some blink when charging, some have multiple lights, at least one is green when charging and off when done (black & decker).

I can agree with you here. Most firms I've worked for use the same brand, but not all. It's been up to the crews to learn the differences.

Any why can't cell phone makers standardize their charger connectors and outputs? I bet I have 20 cell phone chargers lying around the house that are of no use because they no longer fit any phones that we use.

Because there is no economic gain for the individual manufacturers.

If somehow people would pay more for standardized charger lights, they would be offered.

If cell phone chargers were standardized, they would sell fewer of them.

I could use a Sokkia Set3bII charger if anyone has one lying around. CDC27 w/cradle.
Thanks

Micro usb phone chargers should be the standard for virtually all new cell phones.

Those will get standardized the same day telephone keypads are the same as the numeric keypad on my PC and calculators.

It may just be a rumor, but I heard when the phone company came out with push button phones, they purposely changed the number configuration in use for adding machines (and now for PC number pads) because they did not want adding machine users punching the numbers in too fast; the old circuitry could not handle it.
