While users reliant on OPUS and it's variants are having difficulty, there are other automated tools.

Given the limited resources of NGS, I am surprised OPUS is as reliable as it is.

I found opus to be quite good. Always a good idea to do independent checks, but their results fit typically. I will try your link in the future though. Thanks for sharing.

OPUS is supposed to be just a check

to your own observations when properly doing a survey according to NGS Standards. OPUS is certainly not intended to be the final answer.
