Hmmm... the Juniper Mesa 2 is one DC I've been looking closely at lately. Here in the Pacific Northwest, functionality in the rain is an absolute. Methinks I need to consider other options because of the info shared here...
That whole Pacific Northwest thing has always made me laugh. It just seems to make sense to surveyor mind that the Pacific Northwest?ÿis Russia and where you are would be the Pacific Northeast or, of course, the American Northwest if it's just the "northwest" aspect of the whole thing that people out there are hung up on.?ÿ

To keep it on subject, I love my older GTS 311 and don't work in the rain or snow unless it's absolutely necessary.

I've had similar issues with the FC5000 in the wet, thankfully it doesn't rain much in these parts. Good tip on the rain X!
Another question, does anyone know how to set it up so that the keyboard automatically pops up when working in windows (like every other tablet in known existence)? we have to manually go and click the keyboard icon in the bottom tray anytime we want to type anything (eg web browsing, email etc.). the problem is not in magnet, just windows.
By the way we've had a motor issue with GT503 about a year old (won't auto-turn to points anymore), a circuit board needs replacing apparently (under warranty).
Late to the party, but just found out the FC-5000 will "adapt" to the environment.?ÿ?ÿ
For rain there is a program in the start menu of Windows called touch screen profiles. you can set it for rain, using a stylus or finger, and using the tactile gloves.
If using it in the cold and the touch screen stops working, turn it off for a minute then turn it on and it will work in that temperature range.?ÿ Of course getting back in the truck you need to re-warm it for it to work.?ÿ Same thing if setting up in the truck AC and getting out into a hot day, you need to power it off, let it get temp?ÿ outside and the power it back on.
Also, a new issue we seem to be having is after we use MAGNET Field, the Windows' "minimize", "maximize", and "X" buttons in explorer windows shrink so small you can't click them. This size issue persists to the bottom right "system icons" and the top text in the explorer Window. The only temporary solution is a system restart.
Hi Nathan
I had this problem recently and despite trying a number of things (reset scaling, restart Windows Explorer, updated graphics drivers (don't do this)) I couldn't find a solution other than to restart the tablet. Did you find a solution?
Thanks in advance for your help
David
