Saw this picture online: I guess this sort of thing has been going on for a LONG time.......

I’ve seen similar “pincushions” on the side of the Queen Kaahumanu Highway on a ride from Hapuna to the Kona Airport in Hawaii. I think these were “monuments” to spirits and/or friends.

It would appear to me that someone has been playing around recently. Could such tall stacks really survive long? The one on the right looks particularly easy to knock over.

How can this be? They certainly do not appear to approach the magical number of 30 ft. apart to meet the newly created standard for "grossly erroneous".
