Hello SirveyorBill,

I do work for the manufacturer, so I'm certain you'll take my recommendation with a grain of salt;-) , but as a surveyor, I've used the Trimble, Topcon, and Leica receivers, and the Altus is as good as the best of them when it comes to positioning. Where it really out-shines the competition is the value and flexibility.

Many of our customers already own equipment from our competitors, and ask, "Can I use your APS-3 with [xyz receiver, external radio, VRS network, software, post-processing package, etc.]" -- the answer is always YES!

If the surveyor is already familiar with/using Carlson SurvCE or MicroSurvey's FieldGenius, then they don't even have to change their workflow.

But seeing is believing, so I recommend scheduling a demo with your local Altus dealer to see it in action. If you don't know where the nearest dealer is, please contact me (or sales@altus-ps.com).

Lastly, we have a fantastic promotion running now and through the end of the year. It is decidedly the best deal of the year, and comes with all you need to get productive immediately. Please visit this special link to find out the price and what is included: http://www.altus-ps.com/promotion
