I AM USING SURVCE 5.05 WITH THIS DATA COLLECTOR.
I own an Allegro 2 that I use with a Topcon GPT3003LW and a Topcon GR-3 gps unit.
using these 2 devices I am never more than 10ft away from the unit that I am connected to with onboard Bluetooth.
I am considering purchasing a GeoMax zoom 90 with long range Bluetooth handle.
I am not sure, but I think that the allegro 2 Bluetooth range is 100m.
Does anyone else use the Allegro 2 with a robotic total station ?
?ÿ
thanks Greg
The Allegro2 Bluetooth range is plenty for robotic applications.?ÿ More than 100 meters.
The Allegro2 Bluetooth range is plenty for robotic applications. More than 100 meters.
*Way* more than 100 meters, I would hope.?ÿ I routinely work out to 1,000 feet or more when tying control.?ÿ I would consider 200 meters to be marginally usable, and 100 meters just plain inadequate.
The other day I got it to connect at around 1500?? (new best), but that was in the wide open. I??ve noticed major issues though in the woods. 100m seems pretty accurate for when I start losing signal on traverses through dense vegetation, even with me trying my best to have it point towards my Zoom 90 along my brush line.
Jim, I wasn't suggesting that it would not go further than 100 meters. I am uncomfortable making too strong an endorsement because you never know what people will infer from a simple statement. I tested the Topcon equivalent personally to about 800 feet and have more than one or two people using the data collector Bluetooth to take measurements from much further. One guy told me he was able to take a 2,000+ foot shot with his Mesa type collector to the Bluetooth enabled Topcon robot he had. Bottom line is that it will not be the collector that is the limiting factor.
