Instructions for a simple topo job, in fact the owner has made the work very simple as there are 15 control points in the area.
It needs to all be GPS and there is no lack of existing control, this in an ongoing project that gets done every year, seems the main problem is the control is based on NAD83(86) NGVD29, since it's been long established they don't want to change now. But,,,,,,,,,,,,,they have a looonggggg set of instructions TRYING to explain (over and over again) that the local CORS or OPUS will not work. They even give you an option to apply shifts which seems reasonable to me, but at the end of the day all I need out of the 38 pages is the one with the site control buried in all the instructions. Once you have that one in hand the rest is basically meaningless. Kinda sad, but I understand why they are doing it. I need to sit down this fall and chat whit the surveyor who did the control sheet, he will probably get a chuckle out of all the fluff added on.
